Broxtowe Community Festival

6th Beeston Scouts participated in the 11th Broxtowe Community Festival which took place at Round Hill School in Beeston on Saturday 13th June.

The event celebrates the diversity of the population within the Borough.

The District Commissioner said:

They did a fantastic job in adverse weather conditions with fire lighting, cooking dampers, and a low ropes challenge, all of which attracted considerable public interest. Well done guys!

The Deputy Mayor of Broxtowe (Cllr Graham Harvey) spent some time with us. He is a former leader at 2nd Chilwell (Christ Church) Scout Group.

Four adults expressed an interest in volunteering and six potential young members have been passed details of their local Groups, all of which proves that engagement with the communities we serve can reap rewards!

We have already booked ourselves a larger space for next year’s event when we hope to provide even more challenging activities for current and prospective members.
