Bethlehem Peace Light

The carol concert saw the Peace Light arrive in our HQ, which is a flame lit in Bethlehem and distributed across the world, unbroken. The very peace lights that were in our HQ can be seen in the photo above!

Updated Standing Order Form

We now have a new Standing Order Form for paying subscriptions as we have recently changed our bank details. Unless you have done so already, please update standing orders via your bank using the new form, that can be found on the Subscriptions page and return the details form and/or Gift Aid details to your Section leader.

SW Notts Fireworks Extravaganza

Our District, SW Notts are holding a Fireworks Extravaganza on 1st November at Hemlock Campsite. The event will have food, a licensed bar, stalls, music, a bonfire and the all important fireworks!

Gates open at 5:30pm with fireworks at 7:30pm and 8:30pm. Tickets are £6 adult, £3 child and under-5’s free – plus £1 off if you are wearing your necker!

Chief Scout’s Bronze Awards

20140721_184622Last night, two of our brilliant Beaver Scouts received their Chief Scout’s Bronze Award – just as they are moving up to Cubs. This is awarded for completing all the Beaver challenges and it’s the highest award a Beaver Scout can achieve!

Beeston Scouts Raise over £1700 for ShelterBox

The 6th Beeston Scout Group, supported by the Magellan Explorer Scout Unit and Trent SN Network Scouts, have raised an amazing £1739 for the ShelterBOX charity.

Colyn Kemp, Group Scout Leader at the 6th Beeston said “Conscious of the plight of others less fortunate than ourselves, and as part of our commitment as Scouts to ‘help other people’ we decided to do something about it.

“We contacted ShelterBOX – a charity that supports people who have lost everything as a result of a man-made or natural disaster. They distribute ShelterBoxes that contain the bare essentials to house families, keep them warm and fed, (free from mosquitoes) and includes tools to help them rebuild their lives. The boxes even include crayons, books and sometimes a cuddly toy for children. It was the perfect choice of a charity for our young members to help.”

6th Beeston AGM – Monday 7th July

We would like to invite all young members, parents, volunteers and supporters to attend our Annual General Meeting.

The AGM will be held between Beavers and Cubs at 6:30pm in the Scout HQ. In advance of the meeting, you can read the Annual Report and Annual Accounts (2013-2014) by vising our Reports and Accounts page.
