Hoods 40 (with some members from 6th Beeston) have arrived in Tokyo for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree and are enjoying some free time before moving on.
You can stay up-to-date with the Jamboree Unit by following Notts Scouts on Facebook and the Notts Jamboree Unit on Twitter.
The Beavers had a brilliant time putting up tents and lighting fires with the Scouts. We had a very exciting sleepover in the scout HQ and the following day went for a treasure hunt around Beeston! Super sleepover!!
We would like to invite all young members, parents, volunteers and supporters to attend our Annual General Meeting.
The AGM will be held between Beavers and Cubs at 6:30pm in the Scout HQ on Monday 6th July 2015. In advance of the meeting, you can read the Annual Report and Annual Accounts (2014-2015) by vising our Reports and Accounts page.
Get in touch if you are interested in joining the management of the group. We have current vacancies for:
We look forward to seeing you there!
6th Beeston Scouts participated in the 11th Broxtowe Community Festival which took place at Round Hill School in Beeston on Saturday 13th June.
The event celebrates the diversity of the population within the Borough.
The District Commissioner said:
They did a fantastic job in adverse weather conditions with fire lighting, cooking dampers, and a low ropes challenge, all of which attracted considerable public interest. Well done guys!
The Deputy Mayor of Broxtowe (Cllr Graham Harvey) spent some time with us. He is a former leader at 2nd Chilwell (Christ Church) Scout Group.
Four adults expressed an interest in volunteering and six potential young members have been passed details of their local Groups, all of which proves that engagement with the communities we serve can reap rewards!
We have already booked ourselves a larger space for next year’s event when we hope to provide even more challenging activities for current and prospective members.
