About 6th Beeston

Our Sections

The Group has grown over the years and now has sections for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 (Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts) after which young people are encouraged to work with one of the Explorer Scout Units in the District and many return to the Group as Young Leaders.

Each section has a healthy number of members and a very active programme involving both on- and off-site activities. All sections also take part in at least one overnight event each year: Beaver Scouts have a sleep-over, Cub Scouts have their annual summer weekend camp and Scouts have their annual week-long summer camp as well as other shorter camps and sleep-overs throughout the year. The Group’s Cub and Scouts sections also join to attend County and District camps.

Annual Events

We like to get together as a Group as often as we can – every Christmas we hold a Carol Concert and in the summer we like to hold our ‘Summer Event and Annual General Meeting’. Sometimes we go camping as a Group and occasionally we join in activities organised by the District and County.

Get Involved in the team

Parents and friends of the Group have the opportunity to get involved volunteering, whether they assist at meetings, or take on a role in the executive committee that administers the Group.
